Trophy divisons and year end points

Trophy Divisions

 

Enter these classes and your points will be added together. Top contestants will receive champion and reserve champion trophies.

 


HUNT SEAT DIVISION:

(POINTED CLASSES PER DIVISION)

  1. ADULT DIVISION:  3,12,16,22
  2. YOUTH DIVISION:  12 & UNDER 1,9,13, 18      13-18: 2, 10, 16, 18
  3. YOUTH Classes AND Divisions May be Combined due to limited enrollment.
  4. NEVER WON A BLUE RIBBON (NWBR) - Classes: 4, 12, 14. 22
  5. NWBR is designed for any ager rider that has not won a blue ribbon.  If the participant wins a blue during the year, they may stay in that class the remainder of the year, but must move up after this season.  
  6. All divisions are subject to combining or deleting due to participation.  Each divison must have at least 4 participants each show to be deamed a divison.
  7. GAITED HORSE: Classes: 20, 23, 25 and a showmanship class of their age group and choice

WESTERN DIVISION:

(CLASSES THAT ARE POINTED FOR DIVISION TITLE AND YEAR-END POINTS)

 

  1. ADULT DIVISION:31, 35, 41, 45
  2. YOUTH DIVISION: 12 AND UNDER:  29, 33, 38, 43       13-18: 30, 34, 40, 44
  3. THE YOUTH DIVISION MAY BE Combined due to limited enrollment. If we have a larger crowd of youth , the classes will be divided by age and points will go to appropriate age group.
  4. NEVER WON A BLUE RIBBON (NWBR) :32, 36, 39, 46

RANCH HORSE DIVISION:  ALL  AGES

    1.RANCH HORSE CLASSES: 47, 48, 50, 51

Gaming

 Barrels, Texas Barrels, Flag Race, Keyhole, Stake Race and Pole Bending in each age division as listed

  1. 8 & under
  2. 9-12
  3. 13-18
  4. Adult
  5. NWBR

point system

 

The point system used to determine show points is as follows:

1. first place = 6 points

2. second place = 5 points

3.  third place = 4 points

4. fourth place = 3 points

5. fifth place = 2 points

6. sixth place = 1 point

 

***Points will be accumulated throughout the year in each of the divisional classes as stated above and top competitiors will earn year end awards.  Divisions without enough participation will no longer be eligible for year end awards and all accumulated points will disipate.

 ***Points are based on rider, not the horse.  If a rider is riding more than one horse in the same division and the same show, their points will be seperated by horse as well as by ride.  If the rider rides a different horse at each show, the points would stay with the rider.  The only time the points of a rider are seperated in a divison is if the rider rides two horses in the same division on the same show day.

Rules and Regulations

  1. All horses must have current coggins and must be presented at time of entry. A copy of coggins is required to be left at show office.
  2. No loping in pasture area.
  3. All dogs must be leashed.
  4. Rules follow 4-H and then AQHA                                  
  5. 30 second gate call applies.
  6. No alcoholic beverages or profanity allowed.
  7. Age of rider is as of 01/01/08.
  8. Classes may be combined or cancelled as necessary.
  9. In case of inclement weather, message will be posted 2 hours before show time on the answering machine at 252-771-5771.
  10. Make up date will be on Sunday at 12:00 if weather permits.
  11. Trophies for Champion and Reserve champion in each division.
  12. Ribbons 1st – 6th will be awarded in each class.
  13. A release of liability waiver must be signed to participate.
  14. The show or sponsors will not be responsible for any accident or theft that may occur to animals, persons, or property and the exhibitor or spectator shall hold harmless and indemnify such against legal proceedings arising from any accident.
  15. Points will be accumulated during the show season and year-end awards will be presented at the October 31st show. Year-end awards are available to members only and each member must participate in at least 4 shows to be eligible for awards.If a division does not have participation at each show, then that division will be voided and disipate and will not qualify for year end awards.
  16. All riders under 18, all jumpers and all gamers must wear a helmet.
  17. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS FOR DROPPING CLASSES.
  18. All additions must be made 2 CLASSES prior.
  19. Chapter 99E of the North Carolina Statues UNDER NORTH CAROLINA LAW, AN EQUINE ACTIVITY SPONSOR OR EQUINE PROFESSIONAL IS NOT LIABLE FOR AN INJURY TO OR THE DEATH OF A PARTICIPANT IN EQUINE ACTIVITIES RESULTING EXCLUSIVELY FROM THE INHERENT RISKS OF EQUINE ACTIVITES.
