To:  4-H Horse Enthusiasts Date: February 23, 2009  Re:  Northeast District 4-H Horsemanship School The Northeast District Horsemanship School for 2009 will be here before we know it.  We have a lot of great classes for you to choose from, so be sure to sign up today. The Horsemanship School is scheduled for April 3-5, 2009 at the Bob Martin Eastern Agricultural Center.  The school is designed for intermediate level riders between the ages of 5 and 18.  There is also a novice class for beginner/less experienced riders (5-8 year olds will participate in this category).  We will not have any unmounted events, so each participant is required to bring a horse.   Just as last year, each youth will register for 4 classes, in order of preference.  Each class will be taught 4 times throughout the day.  The showmanship, pattern, trail/ring etiquette and novice classes AND GAMING CLASSES will be for all disciplines.  We will also give you a chance to show off your skills at a show on Sunday!  Your horsemanship school registration fee will pay for the entry fees for only those classes that are designated for horsemanship school youth. You may pay for additional classes if you choose.  The registration postmark deadline is March 20.  The school, and the 4 classes, are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Be sure to send in your registration today to get the classes you want!  Participants will be considered registered when all necessary forms are complete, fees are paid and application is accepted.  Registration is by mail only.  PLEASE NOTE:  you may not register during the school.  Parents and/or 4-H Club leaders, please take responsibility for your youth arriving on time, registration, etc.   Experienced riders wishing to serve as junior leaders are welcome.  Please call Lisa Briley (252-531-6106) in advance so that we can assign responsibilities.  Junior leaders will not be permitted to bring their horses.  Spectators are welcome with adult supervision.  There will be no charge for spectators, but donations are welcome in the show office.   Feel free to make copies of this information and share with others.  All youth in NC are invited to attend the Horsemanship School.   We are looking forward to an exciting event!  If you have questions, please call Gerda Rhodes (Northeast District 4-H Horse Council Co-Advisor) at 252-793-2163, or Horsemanship School Committee members Kim Wickre (252-261-2167) or Lisa Briley (252-531-6106) or Monica Burns (252-927-4701). Sincerely,GDR       Registration FormNortheast District 4-H Horsemanship SchoolSenator Bob Martin Eastern Ag Center, Williamston, NC DUE:  Postmarked by March 20, 2009
